Proverbs 6:33 Meaning He Will Get Wounds and Dishonor
He will get wounds and dishonor. His reproach will not be wiped away.

Proverbs 6:33 · World English Bible
He will get wounds and dishonor. His reproach will not be wiped away.
The wound the mind fears is the guilt it carries after it believes it has taken what was not given, and dishonour is the low picture it then holds of itself. The ego insists this mark can never be cleaned, because guilt that seems permanent is what keeps a mind bound to its teacher of fear.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
The wound the mind fears is the guilt it carries after it believes it has taken what was not given, and dishonour is the low picture it then holds of itself. The ego insists this mark can never be cleaned, because guilt that seems permanent is what keeps a mind bound to its teacher of fear. A reproach that will not lift is simply the belief that what was done in a dream has fixed the dreamer forever.
Yet a stain made of belief is undone by a change of belief. The mind that stops treating its guilt as real finds the reproach was never carved anywhere but in its own thought, and thought can be washed the moment it chooses love to look with.
Wound: the guilt the mind believes it has taken into itself, the self-inflicted hurt that only a change of teacher can heal Reproach: the permanent verdict the ego pronounces on the mind, a stain made only of belief and therefore washable by love

What verdict about myself have I been treating as a fact?
The first arrow is what happened, the second is the story we keep shooting into ourselves about it. Only the second one we can put down.
He wrote that if you take away your opinion about the injury, the injury itself is gone. The harm lives in the verdict, not the event.
Patanjali describes how repeated thoughts leave impressions that wear a channel in the mind, so the familiar response arrives on its own. What feels like fate is a groove we have practiced.
