Proverbs 6:32 · World English Bible
He who commits adultery with a woman is void of understanding. He who does it destroys his own soul.
To seek wholeness in another body is the mind's way of confessing it believes itself empty, and the emptiness is the only real wound. What the ego calls desire is the search for a completion it threw away by choosing separation, and no borrowed union can restore what was never actually lost.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
To seek wholeness in another body is the mind's way of confessing it believes itself empty, and the emptiness is the only real wound. What the ego calls desire is the search for a completion it threw away by choosing separation, and no borrowed union can restore what was never actually lost. The mind that grasps outside itself is not wicked but mistaken, hunting for peace in the one place it cannot live.
Nothing is destroyed here but a false idea of the self, the picture of a mind so poor it must take from the world to be filled. See through that picture and there is no ruin, only a mind remembering it was always complete and had nothing to steal.
Woman: the figure outside the self in whom the mind seeks the wholeness it believes it lacks, the borrowed completion that can never fill it Soul: the mind's sense of its own reality, seemingly ruined by the belief in lack yet untouched beneath the mistake
Christian Psychology lens
What am I hoping another person will finally tell me about myself?
What you are searching the world for is already the ground you are standing on. The seeker and the sought turn out to be one thing.
There is no fire like craving, because craving burns without ever being fed. The mind that chases satisfaction outside itself has mistaken the direction entirely.
To know others is a kind of cleverness, but to know yourself is clarity. Mastery is found inward, never in possession of anything else.
