CYBERNETICS

Cybernetics

A person hands the outcome over to a deeper part of himself, the part that works below thought toward the picture it has been given. Worry grabs the wheel and jerks it. Committing the way frees the striving mechanism inside to steer without interference, the way a skilled hand finds the ball once conscious effort loosens.

Trust of this kind is not folded arms. A person settles into the expectation that the goal already stands finished somewhere ahead, and that the machinery aimed at it will carry him there. The result was promised. It ripens on its own once a person quits seizing the controls and lets the work go on.

  1. After you send the email or the application today, close the tab. You have done your part, and refreshing it adds nothing.
  2. Hand a real piece of something to the person you are working with and then leave it with them. No checking in three times.
  3. When a decision is out of your hands, say it plainly to yourself: this part is not mine today. Then go do the part that is.

What am I still steering that I already handed over?

Act without forcing and things complete themselves. The grip is what gets in the way.

Bhagavad Gita 2

Do your part fully and release the outcome. Hands on the work, not on the result.
