Revelation 1:20 Meaning The Mystery of the Seven Stars

The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lamp stands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven assemblies. The seven lamp stands are seven assemblies.

What does Revelation 1:20 mean?

The number 7 is the count of the sacred centers strung up the spine, the ladder of energy that rises through a person from base to crown. The 7 stars are the inner intelligences that govern those centers, held in the right hand because the right is the side of conscious mastery, of the power a person can direct.

Esoteric

The number 7 is the count of the sacred centers strung up the spine, the ladder of energy that rises through a person from base to crown. The 7 stars are the inner intelligences that govern those centers, held in the right hand because the right is the side of conscious mastery, of the power a person can direct. The 7 candlesticks are those same centers seen as vessels that carry light, the bodily lamps waiting to be kindled. Star and candlestick are the same 7 read twice, once as living guidance above and once as burning column below.

The churches are not buildings and not congregations but the 7 energy centers within the body, each one a chamber of light along the inner column.

The number 7: the count of the sacred centers set along the spine, the full ladder of energy rising through a person The 7 stars: the ruling intelligences of those centers, the inner lights that guide each stage of the ascent The right hand: the side of conscious power and mastery, where what is grasped can be knowingly directed The 7 candlesticks: the bodily centers seen as lamps, the vessels along the spine waiting to be lit

SUFISM

Sufism

A gathering can grow proud of its own lamplight, forgetting it was only ever a stand for a flame it did not make. Honest self-examination clears this: a golden stand gives no light of its own, and the moment it takes the credit, the shine begins to dim.

The stars rest in a hand that holds them, and the lamps burn by a fire passed to them. What looks like many scattered lights is one radiance shown in many places at once, each a window where the same brightness comes through.

Live Revelation 1:20 today

  1. Sit still and run your attention slowly from the base of your spine to the top of your head, pausing where you feel tight. That tightness is usually where something unsaid is stored.
  2. Treat the next person you talk to as if there is a light in them you cannot see from the outside. Ask one question you would only ask someone you respected that much.
  3. Under pressure, feel your feet on the floor and let your spine straighten. The body reorganizes first, and the mind follows it a few seconds later.

If my own body is the place the light is kept, how have I been treating the place?

The same truth in other traditions

Hinduism · Upanishads

The body is spoken of as a city with many gates and a light burning at its center. What is sought outside in temples and skies is described as already seated within the small space of the heart.

Taoism

The inner work maps the body as a landscape of linked centers, and health is the energy moving freely up and through them rather than pooling and stalling in one place.

Judaism · Kabbalah

The divine light is said to descend through a ladder of vessels, each one receiving and passing it on, so the whole structure shines only when nothing in the chain is blocked.
