Revelation 11:7 Meaning When They Have Finished Their Testimony

When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them.

What does Revelation 11:7 mean?

PSYCHOANALYSIS

Psychoanalysis

Every truth spoken by the waking mind eventually meets its opposite. When the clear voice has said all it came to say, something rises from the deep places below, an old and primitive power that has been waiting there the whole time. This force does not argue. It simply rises up and overwhelms.

There are seasons in a life when the darkness from below seems to win outright, when everything the conscious mind had built is thrown down and the person feels beaten by something far stronger than themselves. This is not imagined weakness. The depths really do rise at times and overpower the daylight self, and that defeat has to be lived through rather than explained away.

Live Revelation 11:7 today

  1. If today is one of the beaten days, stop trying to argue yourself out of it. Admit it plainly, to yourself, and do the next small thing anyway.
  2. When a friend is in a stretch where everything they built has come apart, do not rush them toward the lesson. Sit with them in the wreck for a while.
  3. At work, when a project you believed in gets killed, let yourself feel the loss before you write the recovery plan. Skipping that step just postpones it.

Can you live through a season of being overcome without deciding it means you have failed?

What rises must come down, what is full empties. The way moves in turns, and no bright season holds forever.

Buddhism

Winter is part of the path, not a sign you left it. The practice is to keep sitting through the season you did not choose.

Stoicism · Seneca

Fortune strikes hardest at those who thought themselves beyond her reach. Expect the reversal and it does not break you when it comes.
