Revelation 12:12 Meaning Therefore Rejoice

Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time.

What does Revelation 12:12 mean?

The devil is the word evil with a d added, the lower reactive force that descends into the mind when the higher centers rise. Heaven is the upper brain and its clear states rejoicing, while earth is the ordinary mind and sea is the deepest reservoir of truth, and the descending force troubles both because the awakening person has begun to climb the spine toward the crown.

Its wrath is great and its time short, since resistance always weakens as consciousness ascends.

What happens inside is the last thrashing of the low nature as the light gathers upward. The reactive self senses it is losing ground and lashes out, but its hour is already counted.

  1. If an old craving comes back strong today, a scroll, a drink, a snack, an argument you want to win, treat the intensity as a sign you are changing rather than failing. Set a timer for ten minutes and let the wave pass through you.
  2. When you are about to say the sharp thing in a group chat or at dinner, put the phone down or take a sip of water instead. The urge will peak and then let go within a minute if you give it nothing to feed on.
  3. On a hard day when everything in you says give up and go back to the old way, do one small thing in the new direction anyway. Small and unimpressive beats dramatic, and it is the thing that actually holds.

When a long habit starts to lose its hold, it often gets louder before it fades. The pull you feel is withdrawal, not proof that the habit was right.

The reed cries because it was cut from the reed bed, and that very cry is the music everyone comes to hear. The pain of separation is what gives the song its voice.

A violent wind does not last a whole morning. Whatever rises with great force is already on its way to spending itself.
