The first resurrection happens while the body still breathes: consciousness lifts out of the flesh and its appetites and wakes to itself inside the living form. Whoever rises this way is untouched by the second death, the fear of the grave, because awareness has already found the ground that does not perish. That waking makes a person a priest, the part in the head that stands between the animal below and the spirit above and offers the lower nature upward.
The number 1000 is the full measure of that steady inner rule, the mind at rest on its own throne while the flesh serves rather than commands.
First resurrection: consciousness waking out of the body and its appetites while still alive, not a rising of corpses
Second death: the fear of the grave, which loses its grip once awareness rests in what cannot die
Priests: the ruling faculty in the head that offers the lower nature up to the higher
1000 years: the full, settled reign of the awakened mind over the flesh
