Revelation 22:15 · World English Bible
Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
Every figure named here is a state of consciousness left outside the awakened center, not a class of people beyond a literal wall. The dog is the appetite that scavenges and obeys no master but hunger; the sorcerer is the mind that manipulates rather than sees truly; the idolater bows to made things and mistakes the form for the living spirit.

ESOTERIC
Every figure named here is a state of consciousness left outside the awakened center, not a class of people beyond a literal wall. The dog is the appetite that scavenges and obeys no master but hunger; the sorcerer is the mind that manipulates rather than sees truly; the idolater bows to made things and mistakes the form for the living spirit. To be without is to live in the flesh and its cravings, cut off from the still ground in the head. The lie underneath them all is the belief that a person is only this body and nothing more, and that belief is what keeps the whole crowd standing outside.
Dogs: the scavenging appetite that follows only hunger and obeys no higher master Sorcerers: the manipulating mind that bends things to its will instead of seeing what is true Idolaters: the part that bows to outward made things, mistaking the form for the living spirit Without: the outer region of flesh and craving, cut off from the still center in the head

Which small untruth about yourself are you most tired of carrying?
The real trouble is not out there among other people. Greed, scheming and self deceit are states of your own mind, and they lock you out of your own peace.
No one keeps you from clarity but yourself. The cravings and the little lies you tell yourself are the walls, and you built them.
The greedy dog in you follows its hunger and calls that freedom. The work is not to kill it but to stop letting it choose the direction.
