Revelation 22:16 Meaning I

I am the root and the offspring. The same presence is both the source of all life and the life that springs from it. You are not separate from the ground of Being. You are its expression, form arising out of the formless and never truly apart from it.

This presence is also the bright and morning star, the light that appears just before the dawn. That light is consciousness itself, awakening within you. When it rises, the long night of unconscious living begins to end, and you see, perhaps for the first time, that the light you were waiting for was always shining as your own awareness.

David is not an ancestor and not a badge of humble beginnings. David is all of humanity fused into one being, gathered into a single youth who is your own son. To be the root of David is to be the source from which that whole fused mankind springs. To be his offspring is to be born back out of it, matured, when the youth turns and calls you Father and by that word reveals your own fatherhood.

The morning star is the first faint light of that awakening, the earliest sign that the desire held within is about to break into day. Man ripens into God the moment David names him Father. He began as God. He rises again from all humanity as God, once the one who is everyone knows him as his own.

The root and the offspring are one being seen from both ends: the same spirit is the source a person springs from and the flower that springs from a person, the beginning and the ripened end of the inner work. David is the beloved center, the awakened self the whole body serves.

The morning star is Venus, which shines just before dawn and heralds the sun, so this names the last bright rising in a person before full illumination breaks, the herald light that announces the coming day inside.
