Revelation 4:1 Meaning After These Things I Looked and Saw

After these things I looked and saw a door opened in heaven, and the first voice that I heard, like a trumpet speaking with me, was one saying, “Come up here, and I will show you the things which must happen after this.”

What does Revelation 4:1 mean?

Heaven is the head, and the opened door is the seat of higher vision unsealed at the top of the body, the way the risen awareness passes from the ordinary mind into the greater one. The call to come up is the summons of energy to climb the spine to that height, where what was hidden below becomes visible from above.

Heaven is the head, and the opened door is the seat of higher vision unsealed at the top of the body, the way the risen awareness passes from the ordinary mind into the greater one. The call to come up is the summons of energy to climb the spine to that height, where what was hidden below becomes visible from above. The trumpet is the clear inner tone a person hears when the current reaches the upper centers, the signal that the ascent has opened its next room.

What happens in a person is consciousness lifting from the lower rooms of the body into the head and seeing from that height. The door is not in the sky; it is the threshold in the skull that opens when awareness rises to it.

Live Revelation 4:1 today

  1. Before you reach for your phone in the morning, sit for one minute with your eyes closed and let your attention settle at the top of your head instead of in your chest or your to-do list. Just see what the day looks like from up there.
  2. When someone is talking to you today and you feel yourself already forming your reply, pause and listen from a quieter place behind your eyes. Let them finish, then answer from there.
  3. In traffic or a slow checkout line, when the irritation starts climbing, let it keep climbing past the point where it usually turns into complaining. Take it all the way up until it turns into plain attention.

What would today look like if you watched it from a floor above the one you usually live on?

Kundalini Yoga · Hatha Yoga Pradipika

The energy coiled at the base of the spine rises through the centers when the inner passage opens, and at the top the practitioner hears an unstruck sound, a tone no one plays, which marks the passage into a wider awareness.

Sufism · Rumi

Rumi says there is a window between heart and heart, and that the one who hears the reed flute's cry is hearing the call to return to the place it was cut from. The sound itself is the invitation upward.

Zen

The gateless gate: the barrier a student must pass is not built anywhere outside, and once stepped through, the student finds there was never a wall, only a threshold waiting in their own attention.
