Revelation 5:6 · World English Bible

Revelation 5:6 Meaning I Saw in the Middle

I saw in the middle of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the middle of the elders, a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth.

What does Revelation 5:6 mean?

At the exact center of the inner court stands the innocent nature that has passed through death of the lower self, and its place in the midst shows it is the still point around which the whole of consciousness turns. The number 7 is the number of completed spiritual power, the full octave of energy centers running up the body, so the 7 horns are the finished force and the 7 eyes the finished sight of the awakened person.

Horn is power and eye is perception, and both stand at their fullest, sevenfold, meaning the being has opened every center. This complete power is then sent through the whole earth, which is the entire body, filling the flesh with what has been perfected at the center.

Lamb: the innocent nature that has passed through the death of the lower self, standing at the center 7: the number of complete spiritual power, the full set of energy centers up the body Horns: the finished force of the awakened being Eyes: the finished inner sight, perception opened to its full range Earth: the whole body, the ground into which the perfected power is sent

Live Revelation 5:6 today

  1. Once today, before you unlock your phone, take one slow breath and feel the center of your own chest. One second of stillness before the scroll changes the whole next ten minutes.
  2. In your next conversation, let the other person finish fully before you answer. Stay still inside instead of assembling your reply while they talk, and you will hear what they actually said.
  3. When something goes wrong at work and the group chat starts spinning, be the one who does not add urgency. Short sentences, slow replies, calm center while the noise goes around you.

Where in me is already calm, even on a day like this one?

The same truth in other traditions

Tao Te Ching 11

The teaching points to the hub of a wheel: the empty center is what lets the wheel turn. The still point carries everything that moves.

Buddhism · Zen

In stillness the mind becomes clear the way muddy water settles when left alone. Full seeing comes from not stirring, not from straining harder.

Sufism · Rumi

Rumi describes a whirling where the dancer spins yet the heart stays fixed on the center. Motion everywhere, one unmoving place inside it.
