Revelation 8:1 · World English Bible
When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
When everything has run its course and the final seal is broken, what remains is not thunder or spectacle but silence. Beneath every sound, beneath all the drama of form and event, lies a stillness that is the source of them all.

EGO & BEING
When everything has run its course and the final seal is broken, what remains is not thunder or spectacle but silence. Beneath every sound, beneath all the drama of form and event, lies a stillness that is the source of them all. Even heaven, at its depth, is silent.
You carry this same silence within you, in the gap between two thoughts, in the quiet that stays when the mind grows still. Becoming present is simply entering it. This silence is not emptiness. It is the deep peace that is always there beneath your thinking, waiting for you the moment you stop and pay attention.

ESOTERIC
The opening of the last seal brings a stillness in the elevated mind, a pause of about half an hour. The number 7 is completion, and when the final one is broken every unfolding has run its course, leaving a silence where before there was ceaseless motion.
That quiet in heaven is the hush that falls in the higher regions of a person when the whole inner work is finished and nothing further stirs. The half hour is the brief interval of rest at the summit, the mind emptied of its voices for a space, poised between what has been completed and what comes next.
Seal: a stage of the inner unfolding kept closed until its time; the 7th is the last, whose breaking ends the whole sequence. Heaven: the elevated region of the mind where the stillness falls once the work is complete.
Ego v. Being lens
When did you last sit in real quiet and let yourself stay there?
The use of a cup is the hollow inside it. What is empty is what makes it possible.
Asked to speak of nonduality, Vimalakirti answered with silence. That silence was praised as the truest teaching of all.
Just sit, with nothing added and nothing sought. The stillness is not a step toward something else, it is already the thing itself.
