Revelation 8:2 Meaning I Saw the Seven Angels Who Stand

I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.

What does Revelation 8:2 mean?

The number 7 is completion, the full set of centers ranged along the spine from base to crown, and the 7 who stand before God are these very centers awake and attentive within a person. A trumpet is a call that sounds through the body, the awakening vibration each center is given to voice.

The number 7 is completion, the full set of centers ranged along the spine from base to crown, and the 7 who stand before God are these very centers awake and attentive within a person. A trumpet is a call that sounds through the body, the awakening vibration each center is given to voice. What looks like a heavenly court preparing judgment is the inner anatomy coming to full readiness, every station of the spine given its own note to sound when the time arrives.

Live Revelation 8:2 today

  1. Sit for two minutes before you touch your phone in the morning and go slowly down through yourself, head, throat, chest, belly, base of the spine, just feeling what is there in each place. You are taking attendance, nothing more.
  2. The next time someone is telling you something that matters to them, let your whole body listen instead of only your ears. Feet on the floor, shoulders down, breath easy, phone face down and out of reach.
  3. When the day turns tense, a hard meeting, bad traffic, a message you did not want, check which part of you has gone tight. Breathe into that one spot and let the rest of you stay open.

Which part of me have I left asleep because only my head seemed useful?

The same truth in other traditions

Hindu yoga tradition

The body is described as having a ladder of energy centers running from the base of the spine to the top of the head, each with its own sound and quality. Waking up means every one of them coming alive in order, not just the top one.

Tao Te Ching

The sage is compared to an uncarved block that has everything already in it. Nothing has to be added from outside; what is needed is for what is already there to come into its own.

Zen

A student asks where the truth is kept and the teacher says: your whole body, head to heel. Not a region of you, all of you at attention.
