Song of Solomon 3:4 Meaning I Had Scarcely Passed From Them

I had scarcely passed from them, when I found him whom my soul loves. I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother’s house, into the room of her who conceived me.

What does Song of Solomon 3:4 mean?

The beloved sought and found is the higher self, the inner Christ-nature that the soul recognizes only after passing beyond the watchmen of the ordinary mind. A little farther than the guarding thoughts, in the stillness just past the usual patrol, the deeper self and its source meet and will not be parted.

Esoteric

The beloved sought and found is the higher self, the inner Christ-nature that the soul recognizes only after passing beyond the watchmen of the ordinary mind. A little farther than the guarding thoughts, in the stillness just past the usual patrol, the deeper self and its source meet and will not be parted. Holding and not letting go is the fixing of attention, the refusal to lose the light once it is felt, until the union is carried home.

The mother's house and the chamber of conception are the deep interior of a person, the creative womb below thought where life first formed. To bring the beloved there is to unite the seeking soul with its origin in the very place it was made, so that the spark returns to the ground it came from and the 2 are one at the root.

Beloved whom the soul loves: the higher self, the inner divine nature the soul seeks and recognizes Mother's house: the deep creative interior of a person, the ground below thought where life originates Chamber of her that conceived: the innermost womb of consciousness, the place of first forming, where union is completed

  1. Sometime today, after the first wave of thinking has passed, stay sitting a little longer than feels natural. The useful part is usually just past where you normally get up and check your phone.
  2. When you are with someone you love, let one moment go on without filling it. Hold the quiet instead of handing it back to them with a joke or a question.
  3. When something good lands in you during a busy hour, a line in a book, a feeling of calm, write one word about it on your hand or in your notes so you can come back to it after the meeting ends.

What did I let slip away today that I could have held on to a minute longer?
