Exodus 12:6 · World English Bible
You shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at evening.
The whole self gathers in the dark to sacrifice its highest inner center so that a lower nature may be given up. The lamb held back is the pineal gland, the small light in the head that ripens under Aries and the spring sun, and it is surrendered at the coming of evening because the deep center wakes only in stillness and shadow.

ESOTERIC
The whole self gathers in the dark to sacrifice its highest inner center so that a lower nature may be given up. The lamb held back is the pineal gland, the small light in the head that ripens under Aries and the spring sun, and it is surrendered at the coming of evening because the deep center wakes only in stillness and shadow. The number 14 marks the full moon, energy risen through the 7 nerve-centers of the body and returned to that inner light at its fullness. The whole congregation is every faculty of a person drawn together as one for the offering.
What takes place is an inward sacrifice done at nightfall: the lower thoughts are laid down so the pineal light can be roused, and this belongs to the dark and the fullness, not to the day.
Lamb: the pineal gland, the inner light of the head that ripens under Aries and the spring sun Fourteenth day: the full moon, energy carried up through the 7 centers and returned to the pineal at its fullness Congregation of Israel: the whole assembled self, every faculty of a person drawn together for the offering Evening: the fall of dark in which the inner light wakes, the hour meditation belongs to
Esoteric lens
What in me only speaks when the day gets quiet enough to hear it?
Return to stillness and you find the root of things. The noise of the day cannot show you what the quiet shows you.
The one who would know the self sits alone in a still place at the turn of the day, gathers the scattered senses inward, and offers the restless mind up as the real sacrifice.
The night is not an absence. It is the hour the heart keeps its appointment, when the crowd has gone and only the lover and the light remain.
