Hebrews 7:19 · World English Bible

Hebrews 7:19 Meaning (for the Law Made Nothing Perfect)

(for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

What does Hebrews 7:19 mean?

The old law is outer code, a set of rules laid on the body from outside, and outer code only rearranges the flesh; it perfects nothing because it never reaches the place where God is actually met. That place is the pineal gland, the small organ deep in the brain where a person sees God face to face, and the better hope is the Cosmic Christ consciousness already seated there, waiting to replace the whole apparatus of ordinance and tithe.

Drawing near, then, is not travel toward a distant heaven but the lower thinking mind turning inward to face that higher self lit in the pineal. The law arranged behavior; it could not switch on the light in the head. Coming close to God means the meat-and-bone computer of the brain finally opening its innermost room, where the divine has been the whole time.

The law: outer code laid on the body from without, able only to rearrange the flesh and never to reach the inner light Better hope: the Cosmic Christ consciousness already seated in the pineal, replacing the whole system of rule and tithe

Live Hebrews 7:19 today

  1. Once today, close your eyes for sixty seconds and let your attention drop from the noise in your head into the quiet space behind your eyes. Nothing to achieve, just turning inward and staying there.
  2. When someone is talking to you, put the phone face down and give them your attention from the inside, not the polite nodding kind. Nearness is attention, not proximity.
  3. Stuck in a grocery line or on hold, instead of reaching for your screen, let your attention settle inward for the length of the wait. The place you are trying to get to is not at the front of the line.

How much of my distance from what matters is just which direction I am facing?

The same truth in other traditions

Hinduism · Upanishads

The divine is nearer than the body and closer than breath. You do not travel to reach it, you turn to face what has been here all along.

Sufism · Rumi

Stop knocking on the door from outside. The one you are calling for has been sitting inside the house, waiting for you to turn around.

Zen

The gate has no gate. The whole distance you felt was made of looking in the wrong direction.
