John 17:15 Meaning I Pray Not That You Would Take
I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one.

John 17:15 · World English Bible
I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one.
Escape is not the answer, because the world is not the problem. It is a picture the mind projects, and fleeing the picture would leave the projector untouched.
From the Christian Psychology reading below.
The same verse, read by one tradition.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY
Escape is not the answer, because the world is not the problem. It is a picture the mind projects, and fleeing the picture would leave the projector untouched. So the asking is not for removal from the dream but for protection within it, that the mind be kept from the one real danger, which is belief in the ego's version of things.
The evil to be kept from is not out there in events; it is the choice of fear over Love, the guilt that turns a neutral world into a threatening one. A mind held safe from that choice walks through any circumstance unharmed.
World: the mind's own projection, neutral in itself, which fear alone dresses as a threat and love reveals as harmless.
Christian Psychology lens
How much of what I am fighting today did I build myself?
It is not events that disturb us but our judgments about them. The traffic is traffic, and the ruin of your afternoon is something you added.
All of this is made with the mind. A thing becomes a threat the moment you decide it is one.
Water does not fight the ground, it takes its shape and keeps moving. Nothing has to be escaped to be passed through unharmed.
