John 17:23 Meaning I in Them

I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that you sent me and loved them, even as you loved me.

What does John 17:23 mean?

When the awakened teacher lives within a mind and the Source lives within the teacher, the whole is present in each part, and separation is revealed as the one thing that was never true. To be made perfect in one is not to be improved but to be seen without the guilt that made a mind imagine it stood alone.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Christian Psychology

When the awakened teacher lives within a mind and the Source lives within the teacher, the whole is present in each part, and separation is revealed as the one thing that was never true. To be made perfect in one is not to be improved but to be seen without the guilt that made a mind imagine it stood alone.

So the world comes to know that love was sent and that it holds every mind in the same regard, for it looks upon a place where a brother is loved exactly as the teacher is loved. There are no degrees in that love; the recognition of one mind's innocence is the recognition of all.

Father: the Source of love dwelling in the awakened teacher, the wholeness held unbroken through every mind it reaches World: the field of shared perception that learns love is real by seeing one brother held in the same innocence as the teacher

SUFISM

Sufism

Spoken as a farewell prayer, this asks that many be made one, and what keeps them scattered is each self standing apart, guarding its own corner. The fault is that separateness, the pride that says a person is his own. The cure is to let the wall down and be joined rather than stand out, so the boundary between one and another thins.

The oneness is not a crowd huddled together but a single love flowing through each, as one light fills many windows and stays one light. The world reads God's nearness in how unbroken that love looks.

Live John 17:23 today

  1. Think of one person you quietly rank below you, in skill, in character, in how much they deserve your patience. Sit with the possibility that nothing about them is actually lesser, only differently seen.
  2. In one conversation today, give someone the same warmth you would give your favorite person. Same tone, same attention, no portion held back because of history.
  3. When a group chat turns on someone, or a meeting makes one person the problem, be the voice that does not join. You do not have to defend them loudly, just refuse the split.

Who am I treating as separate from me, and what would change if I could not?

The self in you and the self in all things are not two. Whoever sees this stops counting others as outsiders, because there is no edge where one being ends and the next begins.
