John 17:25 Meaning Righteous Father

Righteous Father, the world hasn’t known you, but I knew you; and these knew that you sent me.

What does John 17:25 mean?

The Father named here is your own awareness of being, the I AM within, and the world has never recognized it because the world looks outward for its god. To know the Father is to discover that the power drawing every event toward you is your own consciousness, the sense of being that you carry everywhere.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The Father named here is your own awareness of being, the I AM within, and the world has never recognized it because the world looks outward for its god. To know the Father is to discover that the power drawing every event toward you is your own consciousness, the sense of being that you carry everywhere. Few ever find it. They keep searching the sky for what stands inside the skull.

Those who have known differ only in this: they have felt that the imagining self is the source that sent every experience. To be sent by the Father is to be an expression of that inner awareness pressed out into the world. When a person recognizes his own consciousness as the ground of all he meets, the search ends. The one you have hunted outside was the awareness looking out of your own eyes.

Live John 17:25 today

  1. Before you reach for the phone at the first dull moment today, stay with yourself for thirty seconds instead. The thing you keep scrolling toward is not out there.
  2. When someone asks what is going on with you, answer from the inside, how you actually are, not just the schedule. Letting one person see in is enough.
  3. When you catch yourself waiting on a reply, a result, a bit of news to feel steady, hand that job back to yourself. The steadiness was never theirs to deliver.

What have I been looking for out there that was looking out of my own eyes the whole time?

The same truth in other traditions

Hinduism · Katha Upanishad

The senses were made to look outward, so people chase the outside world and miss the one looking. Turn the gaze and the hunt is over.

Sufism · Rumi

He said you wander the world asking for what you carry, like someone riding a horse while looking for the horse. The seeker is the thing sought.

Zen · Hui-neng

He taught that the mind itself is the only place to look, and that searching outside it is like leaving the house to find your own face. Nowhere else is holding it.
