Luke 23:33 Meaning When They Came to the Place

When they came to the place that is called “The Skull”, they crucified him there with the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left.

What does Luke 23:33 mean?

Calvary is the skull, the bony place at the top of your own head, and every crucifixion the record speaks of happens there and nowhere else. To crucify is to fasten a state to yourself, to nail a conception down so firmly that it holds and becomes the fact you live from.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

Calvary is the skull, the bony place at the top of your own head, and every crucifixion the record speaks of happens there and nowhere else. To crucify is to fasten a state to yourself, to nail a conception down so firmly that it holds and becomes the fact you live from. The one nailed here is your own awareness of being, the I AM, taking on a nature until it hardens into flesh.

The two beside him name the two directions any state can face. The one on the right hand is the desire lifted toward its fulfillment; the one on the left is the same power spent grieving over lack. Both are fixed to you in the same act of imagining, and both come true. Whatever you fasten to yourself inside your own head is what you will meet in your world.

ESOTERIC

Esoteric

Calvary, the place of the skull, is the top of the head, the seat of consciousness where the inner crucifixion is worked. The higher self is fixed to the cross of the body, the vertical of spirit crossing the horizontal of flesh, and there the ego is put to death so the risen life can follow.

Right and left, the 2 malefactors, are the paired currents of the divided nature: one turns upward toward the center and one stays turned down. The death that redeems is worked out at the crown of one's own head.

Live Luke 23:33 today

  1. Sometime today, catch which picture you are actually holding, the one where it works out or the one where it falls apart. Both are being driven in with the same hammer. Choose which one you are willing to keep hitting.
  2. Before you see someone difficult, a relative, a coworker, a client, hold one image of the exchange going well and walk in with that. You are not pretending. You are just deciding which version you bring into the room.
  3. When worry starts running the same scene again, waiting for test results, waiting for a reply, do not fight it. Replace the scene. Play the one where the news is good, feel it for a moment, and then go do something with your hands.

Which of the two pictures have you been fastening down all week?

Dhammapada 1

We are made by our thinking. What a person dwells on, they become, and the life that follows comes along behind like a cart behind its wheels.

Hinduism · Yoga Vasistha

The world a person lives in is the shape their own imagining has taken. Fix a picture firmly enough inside and you will walk around inside it.

Stoicism · Epictetus

Things themselves do not disturb us. Our judgments about them do, and those judgments are nailed on from inside, which is also where they can be pulled out.
