Matthew 24:31 Meaning He Will Send Out His Angels

He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

What does Matthew 24:31 mean?

The gathering of the elect from the 4 winds is the drawing back together of the scattered energies of a person into one awakened center. The 4 winds are the 4 directions of the inner atmosphere, the dispersed forces of the body pulled in from every quarter until nothing of the self remains flung outward.

The gathering of the elect from the 4 winds is the drawing back together of the scattered energies of a person into one awakened center. The 4 winds are the 4 directions of the inner atmosphere, the dispersed forces of the body pulled in from every quarter until nothing of the self remains flung outward. The angels sent to gather are the higher messengers of consciousness, the inner powers that carry the summons down through the whole field. The great sound of the trumpet is the vibration that rises when the awakening begins, the tone in the head that calls every faculty to attention and cannot be slept through. The elect are the chosen energies, the parts of the person fit to be raised, collected out of their long dispersion.

What happens is the inward summoning of a divided being back into unity, the scattered life pulled home from all 4 directions into the single risen awareness at the crown.

Angels: the higher messengers of consciousness that carry the inner summons through the body Trumpet: the vibrating tone that rises in the head when awakening begins and calls the faculties 4 winds: the 4 directions of the inner atmosphere, the dispersed forces of the body Elect: the chosen energies of the person fit to be raised and gathered into unity

Live Matthew 24:31 today

  1. Close the open loops today, the fifteen tabs, the half answered messages, the three started things. Finish or drop them so your attention comes home from all those rooms.
  2. Be with one person for twenty minutes with your phone in another room. Give them the whole of you rather than the quarter that was left over.
  3. In a meeting or a hard talk, when you feel your mind running in four directions at once, put both feet flat on the floor and come back to the one voice in front of you.

Where have you left pieces of your attention that you have not gone back for?

The same truth in other traditions

Tao Te Ching 10

Can you gather your scattered spirit and hold it as one. The question assumes the energy is already flung outward and can be called home.

Buddhism

The practice of collectedness gathers a mind that has been running in every direction back to a single point. The scattering is normal. The returning is the work.

The sparks of a person's soul are described as scattered among all the places and things they have touched. The task of a life is to go and bring them back.
