Revelation 2:6 Meaning But This You Have
But this you have, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

Revelation 2:6 · World English Bible
But this you have, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
The one thing counted in a person's favor is that the risen self rejects the pull toward lower desire. Nicolaitans comes from the Greek nike, to conquer, joined to laos, the people, and their deeds are phallic worship, the fixation of energy downward on the body's appetites instead of letting it climb the spine.

ESOTERIC
The one thing counted in a person's favor is that the risen self rejects the pull toward lower desire. Nicolaitans comes from the Greek nike, to conquer, joined to laos, the people, and their deeds are phallic worship, the fixation of energy downward on the body's appetites instead of letting it climb the spine. To hate those deeds is not moral disgust; it is the inner life turning its force away from the genitals and the senses, refusing to spend the current there.
What the awakening consciousness loves and what it hates are the 2 directions the same energy can travel. Here the whole approval rests on this: the self has begun to withhold itself from the lower appetite so the light can rise.
Nicolaitans: the conquering pull of lower desire, phallic worship that spends the body's energy downward instead of raising it.

What do I reach for when I do not want to feel something, and what would be left if I did not reach?
The senses are strong, but the mind is stronger, and awareness is stronger still. The one who holds the reins can send that same force upward instead of letting it run out through the senses.
The eye burns, the ear burns, every sense burns with wanting. Turning away from that burning is not hatred of the body, it is the cooling that lets a clearer kind of seeing begin.
Colors blind the eye, flavors dull the mouth, chasing pleasure scatters the heart. The sage keeps the inner fullness and does not spend himself on the surface.
