Song of Solomon 4:11 Meaning Your Lips

Your lips, my bride, drip like the honeycomb. Honey and milk are under your tongue. The smell of your garments is like the smell of Lebanon.

What does Song of Solomon 4:11 mean?

The union being praised is the marriage of the 2 halves within a person, the higher mind and the awakened soul, and the sweetness described is what pours out when they meet. Honey is the finished wisdom the inner life produces, gathered slowly like a comb and stored until it drops of its own weight.

The union being praised is the marriage of the 2 halves within a person, the higher mind and the awakened soul, and the sweetness described is what pours out when they meet. Honey is the finished wisdom the inner life produces, gathered slowly like a comb and stored until it drops of its own weight. Milk under the tongue is the first, simplest nourishment of that same knowing, the beginner's food and the mature food held together in one mouth. The lips and tongue are the place where inner truth becomes speech, and here that speech is entirely sweet because it comes from a self at one with itself.

The garments carry the scent of Lebanon, the white mountain, and a garment is the outward form a person wears while the fragrance is the quality of spirit that shows through it. When the inner marriage is real, even the surface of a person carries the clean high air of the risen state.

Honeycomb and honey: the finished wisdom the inner life gathers slowly and stores until it drops of its own weight. Milk: the first and simplest nourishment of inner knowing, the beginner's food held alongside the mature. Garments: the outward form a person wears, through which the quality of the spirit shows. Lebanon: the white mountain, the high clean state of risen consciousness whose fragrance clings to the awakened self.

Live Song of Solomon 4:11 today

  1. Watch how you talk to yourself today when you make a mistake. Use the voice you would use with a friend who did the same thing.
  2. Say one true kind thing out loud today to someone who will not expect it, in person or in a message. Plain words, no polish needed.
  3. When you are tired and short at the end of the day, let your voice stay soft even if the words have to be firm. Family dinner can hold a hard sentence if it is said gently.

Does the way I sound today match the person I am trying to be?
